From time to time some of the Safer off the Streets agencies and charities need the help of volunteers to assist with a wide variety of tasks and services. This can range from administration tasks, mentoring, transport, DIY, skill share, or just someone to talk to. All volunteers play a crucial role in preventing and ending street homelessness and helping people rebuild lives. We will advertise below any new volunteering roles across Peterborough when they become available.

Garden House volunteers needed Could you offer a few hours to support people in getting off the streets?  The Garden House opened last month and is run by the Light Project charity. It is a beautiful building in the heart of Peterborough offering information, advice and support to those who are sleeping on our streets. Set in idyllic grounds, our guests can enjoy a safe and warm welcome whilst receiving housing, health, benefits and job search support. We require volunteers to cover morning shifts 9.30am-1pm and afternoon shifts 1pm-4.30pm every day except Thursday. To find our more about this exciting opportunity, please email chrissy@lightprojectpeterborough.org.uk
