There is help in Peterborough to get all rough sleepers off the streets and into somewhere safe to stay. Partner agencies can provide hot meals, clothing and other support if you find yourself homeless while they work with you to get you off the streets.
If you find yourself homeless:
If you’re homeless or being threatened with homelessness, which means you have been asked to leave your current accommodation within 56 days, please get advice by self referring via https://peterborough.housingjigsaw.co.uk/ or calling 01733 864064 (01733 864157 if out of hours).
Our housing needs team are open 9am-5pm Monday to Friday (except Wednesday opens at 11am).
An appointment will be made for a homelessness interview for you with one of our officers if required. The interview will decide if you are eligible for help. You will need to bring all of the relevant documents to the appointment, this makes it easier for us to decide what help you are eligible for.
If you see someone homeless:
Peterborough City Council has a dedicated rough sleeper outreach team for Peterborough and work alongside other partner agencies. The rough sleeper outreach team work and support individuals to leave the street. You can find further information and guidance on Peterborough City Council website which also provided direct contact numbers for the rough sleeper outreach team.
If you find or see someone rough sleeping please notify us using Streetlinks, we will ensure the rough sleeper outreach officer attends the location reported.
